Surtout changez rien!👌

Moustiques tigres, frelons asiatiques, plantes exotiques…

New paper out! We present a framework for quantifying the vulnerability of terrestrial insular biota to multiple threats. This is the first output of the #RIVAGE project, funded by @frbiodiv.bsky.social & brilliantly led by @celinebellard.bsky.social.

Understanding biological invasions through the lens of environmental niches
Understanding successful invasions across taxa and systems in a unified framework is a central goal of biological conservation. While the environmental niche is a promising concept to improve our understanding of biological invasions, existing studies…

Four years ago we showed that only 27% of articles published in ecological journals WITH a code-sharing policy made their code available, leading to a 21% reproducibility potential.

We've looked into journals WITHOUT a code-sharing policy.

To downplay the impacts of alien species, some people claim "native invaders" cause as much disruption. Native species can become superabundant & damaging (when triggered by disturbance) but alien species are far more likely to be a cause of global extinction: redpath-staff.mcgill.ca/ricciardi/Bl...
