I got this text today, and I thought, "WOW, it's weird to raise money by telling everyone that you're super gullible." Anyone who still thinks they have friends across the aisle at this point should be primaried.

I grew up very Catholic, and was quite devout at one point, that point being decades in my past.

I'm feeling very excited today, though, which tells you about the *cultural* pull of Catholicism. Also, I will never, ever, ever stop loving Catholic ritual.
I don't know what these soldiers are called. This is several rows of the backs of what look like Vatican...navy? Men in white flat-top caps, navy uniforms what royal blue cloth draped about 7 inches over their shoulders (I'm sure it's called something specific) with a white border and a star in each of the two corners. They have rifles, in case this get out of hand, I'm assuming. Two rows of men in the Vatican Flute Corps, possibly? Black uniforms with bright red, wide stripes down the sides of their legs, jackets adorned with two vertical rows of shiny silver buttons, and each man has a white sash across their chest, possibly securing something on their backs? The wondrous caps, coming to wide points on either side of their heads, have giant fluffy feathers, red on the bottom, white on top. All are poised with flutes at their lips. A side view of the flute corps, being conducted by a man dressed similarly as the others, but with white gloves and white cords draped on his right shoulder. A Swiss Guard, though this one dressed in what looks like a burgundy velvet uniform, with a silver helmet and burgundy feathers (?) fanned atop it from front to back, marching purposely with a sword across the square.
