I’m all for “a metaphor doesn’t have to be exact to be useful” but having the cause of the divide be “well they USED to be senselessly violent, you know because of who they are fundamentally and naturally, but now we co-exist because they behave now” isn’t uhhhhh how I’d discuss that

Also between Disney animated films nominated that year, you’re telling me Zootopia beat MOANA??? I’m sorry but at best Zootopia is fine if predictable, at worst it’s a flimsy metaphor for racism in America with a LOT of flaws if you scratch the surface even slightly

I think the musical Mamma Mia does a great job of adapting the song so it’s very clearly an older woman making fun of a younger - not inappropriately so but younger than her - man who’s attracted to her. Also, Christine Baranski. Okay I’m done now 😅

See I personally take the lyrics at their word and appreciate a boundary setter, like “yes I can tell you’re attracted to me here’s all these signs you are. However, you are young, and for that reason we must not”. But I realize that could be a generous interpretation because I love ABBA haha
