Midwest / West Regional Office currently has 547 employees. The plan submitted for the new "skinny" Regional Office has 70 employees.

My fear is that those employees that are in offices that were "hoteling" and that do not have an assigned, standard seat/desk may be terminated.

The SSA regional offices are the ones that maintain those contracts with the states. The regional offices are being dismantled. Who will be left to maintain these contracts?

Today's dissolution of an entire component and yesterday's (Office of Transformation) was not relayed to agency employees at all. We had to find out by reading press releases.

Please call your representatives.

Every Federal agency must have an EEO Office. Equal Employment Opportunity was created through the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Statutory regulations are covered under Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations Part 1614.

Also within the notice, it states that the employee has the option of filing a complaint of discrimination with the Agency per EEO procedures and that they first must consult with an EEO counselor. It gives a phone number but.... all the EEO counselors were placed on leave.

The termination "is for cause and will promote the efficiency of the Federal service in accordance with the Presidential Executive Order, entitled "commencing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy," issued on February 19, 2025." "For cause" is a term of art - no right to severance.
