Katsuhiro Otomo has some great character designs but "large old lady who totes big guns" is undefeated
The character Chiyoko was originally designed to be an old man, but Otomo felt that was too ordinary and "a little boring" and came up with the idea for an old lady, which then became a large old lady. The character grew on him as he drew and she ended up with a greater role than he originally planned. Chiyoko from Akira, a tall, rugged, heavyset woman. She carries a lot of weapons, but she could beat the shit out of you with her bare hands.

sherlock manga issues at the used book store. what cursed beast have i discovered... the matching front and back cover is what truly makes it
the front and back cover of an issue of the "Sherlock: The Blind Banker" manga. they have the same image, seemingly traced from a photo, of Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock and Martin Freeman's Watson, making it obvious that the publishers only bothered to prepare one cover for the issue. the credits page, specifying that it was originally published in Japanese by Kadokawa but not crediting any translator which seems sort of weird? did they literally just use the tv script STOP! This manga is presented in its original right-to-left format. This is the back of the issue! a couple pages of the Sherlock manga. the way Benedict Cumberbatch is only partially mangafied is a little disturbing looking

i grew up unitarian universalist so everyone would actively avoid prescribing any particular belief of god, which was frustrating as a child cause i would never get any straight answers if i heard god mentioned and asked what it meant. so this was the first concept i ever had of god
