Oh wow, the pressure to not out myself with my atrocious hairline has finally dissipated!
Cecily, age 25 l, at the end of 2020 after having just gotten a haircut and it hitting her how thinned out her scalp has become. For reference, she would come out or begin hormones for almost two years after this photo was taken. She is in her childhood bedroom with a show folio, a bass guitar, multiple pieces of furniture and a Beatles poster visible in the background. The lighting is because she’d set up her key light in her bedroom to try making synth content for YouTube, which uhh didn’t really work out too well, please don’t go looking for it Cecily in January 2024, 17 months after beginning hormones. Her hair has evidently stopped thinning where it had been in the previous image, and her skin looks a lot softer too. She is in her apartment she lived in after living with her parents. Yea, everything is kind of a mess, but that’s just sorta her way of living, though she’s been trying to be better about it with the new roommate

At this point, there is no longer any reason to hide who I am: I am proud, I am beautiful and I am here to love and support my trans siblings. I’ve spent most of the last 29 years too afraid to stand up and demand respect and that ends today

I just wanna take a second to appreciate how having someone over made me actually make my bed and get my room roughly straightened out before messing it up again

Good morning, cass! It is a balmy 23° and snowing here and I guess this is what I get for yesterday being the equinox!

I personally think both are fantastic, but this is the one I had growing up so it’s the one I’ve gone with here Cover of Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven (2000) by Godspeed You! Black Emperor, a redrawing of a piece originally by William Schaff that depicts hands in some kind of prayerful gesture over a double circle of red radiant light; behind this is a cardboard background, which is striking on the LP version where it simply is blank cardboard with the image printed overtop Cover of Electric Ladyland (1968) by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, which is an infrared-style portrait of the man himself, eyes closed, mouth agape and tilting his head away from the camera. This is the cover of specifically every American release of this album; the UK instead originally featured a group of nude women against a dark background, some holding copies of previous Experience releases. Jimi always hated this version, but he literally always had bad luck in the UK with having artwork he didn’t approve of (not for prudish reasons, in this case) Cover of Merriweather Post Pavilion (2009) by Animal Collective, a geometric pattern made of what in some way resembles light green seeds or beans over a blue and indigo tinted painting of a star field. It is meant to force your eyes to constantly shift focus so that the pattern seems to wave regardless of where you look in the image. If you are able to, finding a physical copy (or at least high resolution version of this album cover) and looking at it while listening to the album is a very cool experience
