I would say on same trip there were some very kind people who moved seats so son could get his own chair to lie on, made the effort to smile and entertain him - people can be very lovely and also very shit

I did read that NY Times article on its link with psychosis and how chatgpt basically validates everything the user is saying rather than appropriately challenge and yeah its kind of alarming if mentally ill people are starting to turn to that model for that support tbh

But equally services being strained could lead to AI being used inappropriately to fill gaps that maybe a human should be doing i.e therapy. Especially literally with ChatGPT as not programmed as specific MH support and the concerns with its link to psychosis.

Implications are interesting because with crisis services overwhelmed I *could* see a future where AI could help do first line of support for crisis intervention, programmed to escalate for more help when needed and offering that listening support etc.
