The ground is covered with native plants 🌱 this used to be an ignored patch of lawn but now it’s a little habitat. It doesn’t look like lawn or grass but I think it’s a lovely alternative - and bonus bush tucker, with edible berries for me, lizards and birds. #GardeningAu #Gardening

The guests have arrived! Galahs, cockatoos and parrots enjoying the sunflower seeds. After I enjoy the flowers, the birds enjoy the seeds. #gardeningAu #Gardening

I used natural borders for pathways so the logs & branches lying in leaf litter provided homes for insects that fed other wildlife. I guess that’s more broadly appealing than leaving the spiders and webs hanging for birds 🙊 I’ve met a few of my ‘garden as habitat’ goals this year ☺️ yay 🙌.

Do they usually lop off the head? I planted sunflowers this year and the lorikeets and parrots are nibbling the edges only. The cockies haven’t visited.

Australian summer bush flowers! A beautiful bunch gathered from my verge and public verge that features the pom pom flowers of red-eye wattle and showy honey-myrtle. The flax lily berries are such an amazing colour!

Djiti Djiti is hopping and waggling his tail in the garden 🌱 #Gardening #GardeningAu snacking on the insects!

One thing I love about having native plants on the verge is that it creates a habitat. The djiti djiti birds have made their nest 🪺 of woven spiderwebs 🕸️ right outside my window. The leaf litter and plants brought insects, spiders, lizards and birds.

I love how the pink everlasting daisies close their papery petals up in rain and pop open after. 🌱 #GardeningAu

An Australian perspective- you arrive home to find flower blossoms from trees clipped off and strewn about. Success! The black cockatoo - threatened species - has been snacking at your place on plants you nurtured and planted. Can gardening be a window to caring for country? #GardeningAu #Gardening

The Red Wattle Bird (Honeyeater) mob are visiting the Callistemons that are about to burst into blooms. While other spring flowers are popping about. On the verge. #GardeningAu #Gardening

Spring is nearly here and it’s the middle of the Djilba season. I can see pink flowers popping up and the warm days and cool nights are dominating- The magpies are stopping by to tell me they will swoop intruders (luckily we are friends 😮‍💨)

I think prince Toto and the green ‘no idea’ creature are flexing / salient in this.

Trump is going to get the Melania hand-swat from trading partners when he reaches out. Question is, will they stay married and wait until he shuffles off.

Eg. It’s not allowed to advertise prescription medicine at all here. The government does everything to keep costs down. US is not subsidising other countries!- it’s that your system doesn’t protect you from the chain of profiting between the manufacturers and the user.
