There’s no such thing as a bad pun.
Clouds today looked like someone just gave up on making earth all that detailed and decided to just scribble in the notebook margins

Found ON FIRE AND UNDER WATER at the @boulderbookstore.bsky.social this weekend!

If you haven’t picked up a copy of our climate change crime fiction anthology, you can find it at your local independent bookstore 📚

A wonderful evening in Dunkeld, eating pizza and fries from Taybank, watching the river and enjoying a #Scottish sunset.

Was asked to sign my very first book yesterday. Pretty big deal. But my elder #millennial brain took over and all I could think of to write as a message was “stay cool.”

Thanks @rhppress.bsky.social and @curtisippolito.bsky.social for teeing up such a big moment for me 😂

Photos coming out from the Grand Canyon’s North Rim show the historic Grand Canyon Lodge burning.

This is the second time the lodge burned. The first was in 1932. It was rebuilt using much of the original stonework in 1936-37.

We drove from Boulder to Great Falls, MT to Water Valley, Alberta to Missoula, MT to Jackson, WY and nothing smelled like home til we pulled off the highway outside Steamboat Springs and took a wee wander.

Colorado, I just can’t quit you.

Ah, the Tetons, truly one of the worst insults to ever be lobbed at French women.

I’ve been reading Caroline Fraser’s MURDERLAND throughout our WY/AB/BC/MT vacation. I was almost finished when we passed the Anaconda smelter’s smoke stack in the distance and I wondered what depraved violence might have happened in this beautiful place.

10/10 book. I can’t stop reading it.

I missed the residency at @ucrlowresmfa.bsky.social so much I decided to spend my birthday poolside. We’ve got Mark Haskell Smith’s MOIST for me and @sgj.bsky.social THE BUFFALO HUNTER HUNTER for Miles. Fresh cherries. Cold soda water.

Sun’s out. Guns out.
Sky’s out. Thighs out.

It’s a good day.

Grabbed a @gabino.bsky.social original in DIA on the way to @ucrlowresmfa.bsky.social — the hottest MFA residency in the world (unless there’s a residency in Kuwait…)

I don’t love giving myself inflexible identities. Attaching yourself to a group often means you stop criticizing it. You stop checking in with yourself. You go to lengths to protect that core descriptor.

But “Good Auntie?” That one, I’ll take to my end.

Storm over the Indian Peaks.

Spring in the Rocky Mountains is moody. It keeps your temperature regulation honest and your senses occupied.

I made my first friend in this yard.

It was the summer of ‘89 and we drove over with my great-grandparents from the ranch in Ward. A cluster of kids ran around, getting dirty. Pretending.

The magic words, then, as now, were, “Hi, I’m Caitlin. Wanna be friends?”

Works every time.
