Re: climate change, also

Who will the ghosts haunt?

If we’re all gone, ain’t no closure coming.

Sorry, Victorian child with consumption

Sorry, Grandma trying to alert your heir to the location of your cursed ring

Sorry, serial killer in search of young victims

Eternity just got more boring

This is the sort of thing we were talking about. The Tongass is an incredibly important and special place.

How do we effectively communicate that story to the masses who have never been to Alaska and are only thinking about their immediate problems, which _they think_ have to do with immigration?
NEW: The Trump administration is exposing one of the last pristine wilderness areas in the country to oil and gas drilling.

Alaska’s National Petroleum Reserve is a key habitat for Arctic wildlife, including caribou, grizzly bears, and thousands of birds.

You know who’s really worried about climate change?

Vampires.

We’re all gonna go and they’re just gonna keep living, interminably, with no natural predators and no food.

Skeletal and alone, trapped in whatever dark, arid corner of the world they find shelter.

Spent the morning with a writer/environmentalist/social justice friend, walking the bike paths of Boulder, drinking coffee and considering how to communicate the story of environmentalism and climate change effectually in the US.

We decided on MEGA, cus obvs.

Joke of the day from Moscow: Russia tried to unveil its first humanoid AI robot, Aidol. Key word: tried. The robot collapsed during its debut, forcing organizers to cut the presentation short. Their rushed attempt to lift the prop only made things worse.

It’s #Sunday. You’ve got a cappuccino and a pistachio croissant. I’d say it’s time to put your feet up and read a #nonfiction #essay about #LinkedIn posts, #tech, and a bad #onenightstand.

Doesn’t that sound nice?

Once upon a time, a #womensrugby player at @reed.edu had a bad one-night-stand with a scruffy blond ascetic.

Was asked to sign my very first book yesterday. Pretty big deal. But my elder #millennial brain took over and all I could think of to write as a message was “stay cool.”

Thanks @rhppress.bsky.social and @curtisippolito.bsky.social for teeing up such a big moment for me 😂

I read the collection in one night. It’s powerful and…concise, centered around different environmental disasters. Does that sound like a fun read? Not at all! But it works, in no small part because…the writers refused to give in to tragedy.” Thanks, Ed!
