Had an amazing time at the Ragnar Appalachians Trail event. Our team, Old And In The Way, did great and placed 3rd in the mixed masters category. I was proud to captain these tough nuts. Strength of mind, body and soul for 25 hours

Got pinched between 2 bears on the trail this morning. Big one seemed curious about me. Smaller one was nervous. Eventually the smaller one moved far enough from t by trail to give me an opportunity to get out. Big one was closing the gap.

Almost had a bad experience running down hill on the trail. We both startled each other. Skunk was locked and loaded. But it abstained from violence as I slowly gave it a wide berth. Never know what you’re going to see on the morning runs.

last stretch of the legs before Saturday race in the Gunks. Body is ready. Unfortunately looking like it will be a wet 10 miles. With steep rocky terrain, should be a slow, uncomfortable experience.

Bear Mt 1/2 marathon today was brutal…and I loved it. Great course with amazing exposure looking over the Hudson River. The elevation included quite a bit of scrambling. Can’t wait to do it again next year…I may be recovered by then 😂

Great training run on the vernal equinox! 10k on the trails with negative splits. Feeling great with 2 weeks to go before the race.
Came across this bone about 10m from the trail head…turned out to be auspicious sign for a strong effort
