The aide to a Republican congressman from New Jersey “faked being the victim of what she claimed was a politically motivated slashing in July, a narrative that quickly unraveled when investigators found spare zip ties in her Maserati.”

America is just one big reality tv show at this point.

Fingers crossed that the judge’s ruling in case is 473 pages of memes of Robert Downey Jr rolling his eyes followed by the words, “Dismissed because it’s all bullshit.”
The facts are complicated, but here’s a summary of what appears to have happened based on the filings and today’s hearing:
NEWS: During a hearing in federal court in VA, prosecutors confirmed that the operative indictment in the case against James Comey was never shown to or voted on by the entire grand jury before it was presented in open court.

Defense counsel argued that’s a complete bar to further prosecution

There will be two options for women with ectopic, dangerous, or otherwise unsurvivable pregnancies: 1) die; 2) terminate the pregnancy and pay the ENTIRE COST out of pocket, even with insurance. (And still potentially die.)
Democrats blinked. Again. Six weeks into a GOP-made shutdown, they folded without securing ACA subsidies. Republicans saw the collapse coming and instantly pivoted to abortion. Now they're trying to extend Hyde to private insurance.

My latest:
Democrats Picked an Insurance Fight They Weren't Willing to Win. Now Abortion Is On the Line—Again (Opinion)
Congressional Democrats face a new dilemma: Vote against affordable health care, or accept a nationwide rollback of abortion coverage.

Me: Look at this beautiful cake I made. Them: It’s 10pm.
Me: i know. I blended a blood orange into one layer of batter and an avocado into the other.
Them: Why are you making a cake at 10pm?
Me: Because I have a deadline.

Obama: I believe in an America where we don't fear each other. But look out for each other. And if we want that story to continue. If we believe in that better story. We need leaders who believe in it too.

America goddamn.
“Under the plan, bounty hunters may receive “monetary bonuses” depending on how successfully they track down their targets — and how many immigrants they then report to ICE.”

Or ICE could just fund the Klan directly.
ICE Plans Cash Rewards for Private Bounty Hunters to Locate and Track Immigrants
Companies hired by ICE would be given bundles of information on 10,000 immigrants at a time to locate — and paid cash bonuses for performance.

The writers on our last season of America need to reel it back in now. Play the crises that you’ve ALREADY ESTABLISHED. Just because you don’t know how to end the scene doesn’t mean you throw everything at the wall.

Pre-ACA, my doctors refused to diagnose my endometriosis because it would have made me uninsurable. By the time the ACA passed, my fertility was toast. My son has Medicaid thru an adoption subsidy, but TX refuses to expand so there are limited providers who take it. We NEED healthcare access.
like yeah sure the ACA was far from perfect (although “expansion of the welfare state was hard fought but woefully incomplete” is basically the history of american social policy), but it is difficult to overstate how important the Medicaid expansion has been to expanding health care access

It’s infrastructure week! Er… except the opposite. It’s EndFrastructure Week.
Trump has frozen or canceled $28B in funding for infrastructure projects in Democratic congressional districts.

Meanwhile, representatives of those districts are fighting to extend ACA subsidies — more than half of which go to people in GOP-held districts.

Remember this.
