Nah, that theory just lets the capitalist-imperialists off the hook for their roles in destroying our planet

Chevy Chase is a notorious asshole and bigot but his early National Lampoon days were undeniably funny 😅

You only watched one episode but just know it's a horrible show? That's like a person saying TNG is garbage bc they only watched one episode ("Code of Honor") and it was horrible. Weirdo behavior 😐

Yeah bc boomers long for a Star Trek that didn't exist *sips*

I was thinking of Swedish Chef being the default look of TOS Klingons, but he'd also do great as Neelix 😂

Discovery is great! But Strange New Worlds is a lot of fun too and serves as a nice bridge between older and younger Star Trek fans

• Captain Kirk – Kermit the Frog
• Spock – Gonzo the Great
• Dr. McCoy – Fozzie Bear
• Scotty – Bunsen Honeydew
• Nyota Uhura – Miss Piggy
• Hikaru Sulu – Scooter
• Pavel Chekov – Rizzo the Rat
• Q – Pepe the King Prawn
• The Borg Queen – Annie Sue (Miss Piggy’s rival)

Do you mean Discovery or Strange New Worlds? I believe you accidentally combined the two 😅

All of this was purely fictional, of course, but the dynamics of the struggles laid out in this fictional story, including their various contradictions, serve as beneficial/educational material for communists trying to organize revolution here in the real world 🖖🚩✊ 14/14

But in the end, because of the Maquis' idealist and violent actions that threatened everything Bajor and its allies had achieved thus far, the Federation had to respond with—albeit controversial—force 13/14
November 28, 2024 at 3:40 AM
Even the Federation's own Benjamin Sisko sympathized with them to some degree, referring to them as "angry, scared, determined people who are going to do whatever it takes to survive, whether it meets with the Federation's approval or not" (DS9, The Maquis Pt. 2) 12/14

The Maquis went against the collective will of the Bajoran masses by denouncing the peace agreement and embarked on a violent crusade instead. The Maquis were clearly more ideologically aligned with anarchism than with Marxism, which ultimately resorted to ultra-leftist extremism 11/14
November 28, 2024 at 3:40 AM
From the Maquis' standpoint, Cardassia will always be a threat to Bajor and thus a peace agreement serves as a betrayal to the Bajoran struggle. Which is understandable yet incredibly misguided 10/14
November 28, 2024 at 3:40 AM
Which brings us directly to the Maquis—a seemingly revolutionary, albeit violent extremist, organization made up of radical Bajorans and their sympathizers, hellbent on destroying their former colonizers Cardassia by any means deemed necessary 9/14

I'm reminded of this excellent quote by Michael Parenti in his must-read book 𝘉𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘥𝘴: 8/14
