I’m sorry for your loss. We just said goodbye to our old man Gadget who got sick suddenly with probable cancer. He was my lap cat and very vocal, so while we have another cat at home, it seems so very quiet without him.

My male cat used to freak out and pee all over his carrier on the drive to the vet. The first time I found this out, he was a kitten with his sister in there with him, so I got to give two angry kittens a bath when I got home. He now goes solo with a blanket or towel in with him.

My kids were 8 and 10 when we adopted Tuna and insisted on naming her a fish name to commemorate another fish-named cat that had passed. Gadget was a goofball kitten with a sister, so we had a Gadget and Penny for a while. We never call him Inspector though. Gadget just fits better.

My 12 year old helped me with our sign this morning. My kids got to go to their first protest today and enjoyed checking out signs and costumes.

I grew up not discussing politics with extended family because "you won't change their mind". Maybe the point is not changing one person's mind, but rather giving permission to others to speak theirs. I have decided recently that I will not stay silent, and hope that my kids learn from this.

So my mug specificity is justified? I do actually have a mug that I only use for coffee and one that I prefer for tea.

I have a lot of knit socks that need mending, and I am on the 4th sock in a week which is a lot of duplicate stitch. I happily wore a mended pair a few days ago which had been out of rotation for far too long.

Those are really beautiful. I would love to know what pattern the flowered socks are.

It's gardening time where I live, so rage weeding has been making me feel a little better (although maybe a bit sore). My wildflower front yard will look great soon.

The radishes planted themselves in my lawn from a radish nearby that went to seed. I sometimes let my carrots, arugula, Swiss chard, and radishes escape the garden because I think the flowers are pretty.

I made a few from this pattern which I liked because the length helps them stay on a bit better.
