You're right on with the Insurrection Act being invoked. Kavanaugh, Alito, and Thomas provided the roadmap to not just the national guard in our streets but the regular military. It's only a matter of time.

Because protective functions - the actual phrasing - isn't in and of itself the execution of laws, which is the phrasing of Posse Comitatus, or so they say. Protective functions require the execution of laws, as I see it. But still worry, as the next test will come with the Insurrection Act.

If you can't get an indictment in a secret proceeding where you control both the explanation of the law and presentation of the facts to a jury, then you should never be a prosecutor ever again. And then, the next person should take a hard look at the basis for the failed charges. Incompetence.

60 minutes should investigate. If only it were allowed.

Mentioning ICE gets right wing defenses up. If instead, you lead them by the nose through a scenario where they find an abandoned infant that they can't immediately take to an authority, you can end up getting an admission that children in gov't custody shouldn't suffer. Wild it can take that much.

Maybe 60 minutes should look into what motivated her decision. That'd be fun. Impossible, but newsworthy at least.
December 22, 2025 at 5:23 PM
To repeat, the failure to secure an indictment EVER is a terrible failure and the prosecutors should be shamed by their failures here from now until the end of time.
December 22, 2025 at 5:19 PM
Quick question, Mr. Vance. Define "street girl," please. No way he'd be able to do so in a way that isn't absolutely terrible.
December 22, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Well yea, Trump is a victim of all of this. Now I'm horrified that they'll actually say that.
December 22, 2025 at 5:04 PM
I'm surprised they didn't call them donations unconnected to the benefits received.
December 22, 2025 at 5:03 PM
Why though? Control of media in the hands of a few has never felt good.
December 22, 2025 at 4:47 PM
Accurate information about the law will always be valuable, but especially so now. Good on you.
December 22, 2025 at 4:34 PM
He wouldn't, which is why I fear that we're actively losing evidence of the crimes they are committing and trying to cover up as best as possible which will then make it harder to prosecute those crimes when the time comes. Good point, horrifying consequences.

This admin torturing people isn't newsworthy and isn't a contentious topic? Come on now, Bari. That's not cutting it. I would have pulled that statement prior to you posting it. She needs a good editor.

Especially when she previously was reported as saying the story"lacked context" and was "missing critical voices." Seems she's added some polish since then. That and the time to step in isn't immediately prior to broadcast if quality is the real issue.

The way he pits his underlings against each other and overlaps their functions is reminiscent of an infamous dictator. What Witkoff et al. are doing is rightfully Rubio's domain. I wonder if it grinds Rubio's gears. I need a glimmer of silver lining here.

Then the next admin who wants to will prosecute those state AGs who do, and we continue to circle the drain. This isn't saying prosecuting this admin for all its crimes is anything but necessary, more pointing at a potential problem.

It's usually followed up with an accusation of TDS, which they can never define. I still try to talk to everyone. It often feels like beating my head against a wall. Good thing I have a thick skull.
December 22, 2025 at 3:47 PM
Weiss says it "lacked context" and that critical voices were missing. What context and what critical voices exactly I wonder.
December 22, 2025 at 3:46 PM
More so trying to grapple with this bizarro world, but I see how it could be interpreted like that.
December 20, 2025 at 3:36 PM
So did I. What does that matter?
December 20, 2025 at 3:33 PM
Name recognition is a hell of a thing.
