72 eastbound buses *still* have sign issues. I rode one without the front number again on Saturday. And I rode another that said 72 outside, but the onboard sign was not great. It displayed an error message briefly, along with the incorrect time: 4:29 p.m. when it was actually 5:42 p.m. Yikes.

Always an adventure when the bus is so late that the Transit app doesn't know what happened. (It arrived 2 minutes after I saved this screengrab.) Interesting that the 3 upcoming times shown are all "scheduled" rather than using real-time data. #MSPTransitExperience

Bus bunching. I see this often for the B Line on the Saint Paul side. #MSPTransitExperience

Question that shows up in the Transit app when you're waiting for the bus after dark. #MSPTransitExperience

They're back. More muted tonight; I was questioning my eyes and a camera was helpful. But any night with northern lights is a good night.

I saw really great northern lights twice last year when I was up north, but nothing like this color! Didn't expect to see something so bright, even with the naked eye, among street lights and house lights in the Twin Cities.

If you cut down old plants this year but haven't yet taken them to the compost site, it's too late for the season: insects are hibernating. Saturday I pulled saplings off a pile and found 3 wooly bear caterpillars. Don't know why they chose thistles! (Carefully covered them back up after the photo.)

3 weeks ago, this sign was not yet displaying times. Route 6 was in the spot where it says E Line now (compare with above post). According to project FAQs, the 6 won't run in this area after the E Line opens, though it will still travel on Xerxes and Hennepin. www.metrotransit.org/e-line-faqs

The new digital schedule sign is working at the U of M bus stop outside Ridder Arena as of at least yesterday, a month ahead of the opening of the E Line. (Route 6 is on the board until then.) Nice to see the integration of campus transit and Metro Transit info on one sign. #MSPTransitExperience

Yes. These were blooming earlier than I remembered, but still autumn. (September 4, 2020.)

Feels like a long time since we've had a match at the Pav. Gophers swept Illinois but sets 1 and 3 were close.

I say "barely" for all routes except the B Line. In St. Paul, it's usually bunched up to be more frequent than the scheduled 12 minutes. (A longer wait elsewhere when that happens, of course, which I don't like.) Plus in St. Paul there's also route 72, which arrived sooner than the B for me today.

Route 72 eastbound is back to its old tricks (showing just the destination and not the number). Every bus I've seen over the last week has been like this. #MSPTransitExperience

I reported this sign problem to Metro Transit last Wednesday over lunch. They told me today that they've sent it to the tech team. Not urgent, of course, but 3 days is a long time to address. Walked over to see if anything had changed, and now there's a sticker on the screen. #MSPTransitExperience

Lots of great signs in Minneapolis today! I chuckled at the use of lefse in this message.
October 18, 2025 at 11:28 PM
When I got off the train at U.S. Bank Stadium Station, there were lots of transit police (not an active situation) but no one watching for riders who need help. The signs at this station are for people boarding, so they weren't immediately visible to people departing unless you knew where to look.
October 3, 2025 at 3:17 AM
There aren't any printed signs or ads on the train that say that the ride will end at U.S. Bank Stadium Station. The onboard maps are the regular maps, with no construction noted.
October 3, 2025 at 3:17 AM
There is a verbal announcement that plays on the train platform every 5 minutes. This message also says that the eastbound Green Line starts at U.S. Bank Stadium, with no mention of what happens for westbound passengers. Reminder that I heard this on a westbound platform.
October 3, 2025 at 3:17 AM
The permanent maps on both ends of the platforms do not note the closure, so if you missed the temporary sign at the end of the platform, you wouldn't know anything is happening based on these maps.
October 3, 2025 at 3:17 AM
The temporary sign describing the closure that's posted at the Green Line westbound stations says in bold that the Blue Line will be closed. It says that there are no trains in downtown Minneapolis, but this should have specified it means no Green Line trains, either.
October 3, 2025 at 3:17 AM
The Transit app has been talking about the Blue Line shutdown since it started, even asking if I knew about it when I wasn't taking the Blue Line. (I haven't been on that route in several years, though I used to take it all the time when I lived south of the river and commuted to Minneapolis.)
