The guy at Flying Meat. I wrote Acorn, Retrobatch, VoodooPad, FlySketch, FMDB, probably more. Pizza and bread too.
Apparently I’m a super @gruber fan today. Two posts on my site:

Just got the new Incase Sculpt Ergonomic keyboard, "Designed by Microsoft". So far it's a 1:1 swap in replacement and I'm super happy to have options now.

Changing keyboards is really really hard, I'm glad I don't have to eventually find a different model. (I also have two backups in the closet!)

I've just updated flyingmeat.com/acorn/docs-8... "ACTN002: Acorn's File Format" with a Python script to export layers as png/tiff/plist.

Acorn is technically a proprietary format, but I'm not big into lock-in, so I'll always make it easy to get your data out.

Yesterday I got Myth II: Soulblighter updated on my Mac, and I just ran through a training session for the alpha of Marathon on my Xbox and I'm wondering what decade is it again?

A little post by me: Acorn's File Format Documented:

The database schema it's been using is 16 years old now, and I don't think it's going to change anytime soon.

Fixed a very, very old bug in Acorn today.

I never thought it was my fault, but it was. So hurray it’s fixed! But also WTF, Gus.

Here's some bread I baked yesterday. It was good.

One of these days I'll get back to writing about it again and my current techniques.

Just did the "set an alarm so I can get some crazy tech gadget the second it's released" thing, but it's a pizza oven. Because I'm me. Got a Gozney Tread headed my way. (And if you want one, here's a 10% off: <https://gozney.mention-me.com/m/ol/ye6nk-august-mueller>)

This Stratechary interview with Bobby Healy from Manna, a drone delivery company, was awesome and amazing: stratechery.com/2025/an-inte...

I want it so much in the US.

New pizza oven alert. The Gozney Tread is a $499 super portable oven for … adventures? The stand is pretty amazing, and the magnetic mantel is A+ design work.

The designs coming out of Gozney has gotten so good, I love it: www.gozney.com/collections/...

Very cool, but … it doesn't play like I remember. Probably a Safari problem.

I'm forcing myself to use Acorn (and all other apps) in Dark Aqua mode on MacOS to fix some stuff, and … how the heck do people do this? The eye strain comes on so fast. It can't be a generational thing, can it? Eye strain?

This bake was good and repeated the success from the other day. I might have the basics for doing multiple loaves in this oven down. Now I get to experiment in different ways.

The bake for today's bread could have been so much better, but I think my oven decided to turn off the heat instead of turning it down:
