All opinions are my own and do not reflect any of my associations.
I love the concept of MeTV Toons. I think it could be a nostalgia filler.

Unfortunately, nothing I want to see is on during times I can watch, and when I do get to watch on weekends I end up seeing the same batch of episodes over and over since the shows play all week long.

Good thing for DVDs!

According to CLZ based on what I've entered so far, the most issues I have for a series is Uncanny X-Men vol. 1 (which tracks). Surprisingly, my #2 is Action Comics vol. 1, despite the fact I'm a bigger Batman fan (with his vol. 1 at #3).

This is an excerpt from an article about 1986's new Saturday morning offerings from the LA Times. I included the 1986 network schedule inforgraphics to remind what was airing at the time.

Ghostbusters

And, of course, the original Ghostbusters. 'Nuff said.

Garfield's Halloween Adventure

A special that doesn't get NEARLY enough love--especially since they don't play it on TV anymore.

America's favorite fat cat goes trick-or-treating and ends up dealing with some nightmare-inducing pirate ghosts.

It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

It's the Peanuts gang. It's Halloween. This is appointment viewing every year. No excuses.

The Witches

Speaking of witches, these 20th century types just like to feed on children period. And turning them into mice.

Hocus Pocus

Three witches vs. the 20th Century as they get resurrected by some kids and must feed on youth before dawn to stick around.

And somehow they knew the words to a song that came out 200 years after they died. The first time.

Teen Wolf

Speaking of wolfmen, here's a very 80s movie where lycanthropy is used as symbolism for the perils of puberty. Forget finding a cure to the curse--we've got a basketball game to win!
November 1, 2025 at 2:43 AM
The Monster Squad

What other movie do you know of where a wolfman gets taken down by a kick to the junk? That's right: NONE.

This movie's got nards.

Evil Dead II

This requel is the best of the original trilogy. It's equal parts horror, humor and badassery--especially when Ash gets his chainsaw.

Groovy.

A little fun Boo Bucket comparison. Two of the originals from 1985 & 1986, the "last" from 2016, and the latest one from this year.

They've definitely gotten cheaper over the years.
