a basic de-catastrophizing exercise is this:
1. imagine what is the WORST that could happen (you’re already doing it so just dig all the way in, spiral right down)
2. what would you do if that happened?
3. now, what is the MOST LIKELY thing that could happen?
4. what would you do if that happened?

Reminder to take a step back and practice de-catastrophizing exercises. I learned a lot about managing this in therapy and still have caught myself in a catastrophy spiral, like most folks watching the news. Just remember that's what they want, and fearmongering/sensationalizing is what sells
