Am Catt on Twitter, looking for friends and fun follows here too...Twitter was fun while it lasted, but...
Maybe a tad overdramatic? I'm fully aware of who they are, (mostly) and the damage they're doing ecologically but this approach really turns off the majority who are just trying to get/keep a job and pay the bills. You need a much more down to earth, relateable approach to convince/educate them

Yeah, I think he may have learnt a few things since 2023 - his capitulation on CGT for one thing (altho it doesn't go far enough imo - but one step at a time)
December 16, 2025 at 6:51 AM
They can come across like that, on some issues, and that can be polarising for some people. Those on the right will be against them on RW principle, and those on the left can be against them on the grounds they are too far left - and rip shit and bust. Not my opinion, just my observation of others
December 16, 2025 at 6:50 AM
Not disagreeing, just saying that as a key issue it isn't going to win them the election - most people are focussed on getting and keeping a job and paying the bills right now. They have always had a climate focus, and my guess is there will be a policy announcement closer to the election. Patience.

It's called National press releases - aka RW propaganda - say it often enough and it becomes true - and unfortunately not enough people look under the hood to check.... 🙄
December 16, 2025 at 6:38 AM
lol - yeah ok .... are you seeing someone about that paranoia? You should be, you don't sound well....
December 16, 2025 at 6:34 AM
Shades of MBIE all over again - and look at what a disaster that was!!!
December 16, 2025 at 6:33 AM
Aww, sorry did I hit a nerve? Do people not invite you to parties?
December 16, 2025 at 6:31 AM
Wow, angry wee activist...you must be fun at parties...
December 16, 2025 at 6:30 AM
And you're an indoctrinated twat
December 16, 2025 at 6:17 AM
Oh please, drop the pearls. I don't do propaganda and I've voted Green in the past but not everyone is as hard out like you....I know a lot of diehard lefties who'd never vote Green because they think they're too far left. Vote however you like, but lose the drama or you won't convince anyone else
December 16, 2025 at 6:17 AM
They are also still too polarising themselves as well tho. Don't get me wrong, I've voted Green candidates in the past, and may do so again as I'm being redistricted next election (we'll see) But I know people on the left who don't do msm who find Greens too much...
December 16, 2025 at 6:13 AM
I've been watching Greens for years, even voted Green couple of times. They are getting better at political games while staying true to their ethos. But they're not there yet. They're not strong enough, yet, to take on that RW propaganda. So a vote for Greens this election is just a split vote.
December 16, 2025 at 6:10 AM
Very true. I don't think it needs to be one thing at a time, but more one stage at a time for a few prioritised changes to form a base for incremental bigger changes - eg that approach was working with a lot of social change until this time period hit.. but it's a really fine balance..
December 16, 2025 at 6:06 AM
Yep, agree wholeheartedly. Unfortunately in politics you have to work with what you are given by the electorate.... (tbh I'm more concerned by the nasty, obnoxious bullies - probably also corrupt - who vote for him...)
December 14, 2025 at 12:23 AM
I think he's/they're focusing on the bigger issues atm - most kiwis are milquetoast on climate and fast track, they're more concerned about cost of living and getting a job to pay for it. I'm waiting to see what happens next year, closer to the election...my guess is the devil will be in the detail
December 14, 2025 at 12:20 AM
They're already exposed - it's the Middle of the Roaders you need to focus on. No point in attacking the fascists head on, either, like bullies, they need to be undermined - that exposes them to and alienates them from the MotRs. THEN you can bring the MotRs on board and voila - change is effected.
December 14, 2025 at 12:16 AM
Tbh, while I agree in principle, it's not the fascists you need to get on side, it's the swing voters/non-politicos who are influenced by them that you need to convince. And bashing those people over the head with anything will only make them go the other way. Small steps towards big changes works
December 14, 2025 at 12:12 AM
Nope, it's from 67 years of observation. Kiwis pick up innovation and change really quickly, if it's presented the right way, makes us look good and isn't too 'extreme'...but will block and fight it if not. Plus most don't care til it directly affects them...or 2 weeks before the election.
December 14, 2025 at 12:07 AM
Passionate's fine but so is focus too - being passionate about Gaza, taxing the rich, carbon net zero is fine, but you need to prioritise, take it one step at a tim, so you don't set off the RW fascists. (Also most people don't get passionate until it directly affects them - so again, focus)
December 14, 2025 at 12:02 AM
No, sorry, not clear - not appeasement, just making sure you don't scare the horses...Kiwis are good with change initially - but only one really big one at a time and/or only until the narrative changes - and the RW are VERY good with the narrative - true or not.
December 13, 2025 at 11:57 PM
I meant change as one thing at a time. Too big too quick change will also drive fascism. I'm waiting for the detail coming out closer to election - they're signalling CoL is paramount - esp focusing on jobs and keeping people here. (And think they learned last time about over promising...)
December 13, 2025 at 11:40 PM
I don't know, Shane's changed his spots before...Depends what level of power he wants as to what he'd capitulate on. And I wouldn't underestimate Chippy - he could have taken defeat and left after the election - that he didn't, and has created a united caucus is a pretty good sign of leadership. imo
December 13, 2025 at 11:34 PM
He has the support of his caucus & a lot of more than capable MPs behind him. While I agree we need to go more left, a softly softly approach will work a whole lot better than the Greens' rip shit and bust approach, if you want long term change. There are too many RW bad actors ready to shaft them.
December 13, 2025 at 9:49 PM
TPM need to get their shit in order then. Chippy's leaving the door open (tho he'd obviously want a just Labour/Greens coalition) I'd rather he took NZF if he needs the numbers & TPM don't sort it as he'd reign in Winston better than the former CEO - either way this coalition needs to go.
