i think the mail person might be breaking the porch spider’s web when they deliver the mail so im taking measures.

Duct taped to the pillar are two handwritten signs done with red ink. One has a simple stick figure drawing of a smiling spider with an arrow pointing to the top right of the photo and the words “Friend! (pays rent by eating mosquitos)”. The second has one arrow pointing again to the top right, another at the bottom pointing to the lower left towards a shelf containing bottled water, and reads, “This spider is a friend. (She eats mosquitos.) Please don’t mess up her web. (& help yourself to water)”. Hard to see but visible in the photo: a roughly 14” diameter spider web stretching from the pillar to the porch roof.
