Canadian Childless Cat Lady, fostering cats and kittens for my local cat rescues since my soul-kitty crossed the rainbow bridge in May 2020. I now serve 5 “foster fails” named Curly, Lucy, Foxy, Charm and most recently, Nova.
Even Canadian press is sane-washing. Quite the low-key headline for the shit-show. “He says economy is strong” they say - with zero indication that him saying it doesn’t make it true!

Two years ago today we took little Charm for her surgery to repair a PRAA (birth defect resulting in a constriction around her trachea and esophagus). Now she’s a happy girl living her best life with all of her friends. We are always thankful to the rescue fundraising so she could get the surgery.

This was yesterday but is such a Caturday scene. 3 of the fosters catching some z’s. Grey is Ana - blind & waiting for adoption. Orange: Chester - still waiting for dental. And the little tabby Gretchen - 4 weeks into her 12 week treatment of FIP. Her brother Gilbert doesn’t snuggle! #caturday

They’ve managed to correct it to remove her husband’s name and include hers but apparently the most important thing about her is that she’s a wife and mother.

One of our fosters had hernia surgery last week. A day later her belly was full of fluid. Vet visit drained yellow fluid high in protein. Started immediate treatment with GS-441524 for FIP. Confirmed today from testing the fluid that she is +ve for FIP. She’s had 5 days of treatment and improving.

This pretty girl Ana(stasia) had a double enucleation today. I was surprised they shaved her whiskers too! She’s got a couple of weeks of recovery, including wearing the dreaded cone, and then she can be adopted! She’s a snuggly one. After losing her 3 babies, and her eyes, she deserves happiness.

This is our newest foster who has settled in to a new space that’s not a shelter cage, comfortable enough to make biscuits! He will be with us for 4-6 weeks until he goes for dental surgery and then can be adopted. He’s a very sweet boy named Chester who loves his pets, and gives great head butts.

Meet Chester. He is our newest foster. He’s such a sweet boy. Chester will be staying with us for a month or so until he can get in for some dental surgery, rather than waiting in a shelter cage. ❤️

It’s often pretty cool to live near Niagara Falls. Less so during peak tourist time! But living where we do south of the Falls, we are a 3 minute drive from the parkway where we have a great view of Canada Day fireworks without the thousands of people and traffic!

Our bottle babies went to an adoption event today and had the best outcome! 2 of them went home together (woot, woot) and the third went to a home with a one year old kitty who wanted a friend. I strongly believe kittens should not be adopted as a lone cat. We are so happy for them!

We don’t want to go to the US. 51st state, tariffs, increased scrutinization of social media in case of disagreement with Dear Leader, having to register/be fingerprinted if longer than 30 days. Contrast with a bill to stay longer without a Visa for snowbirds. WE DON’T WANT TO GO!

That Edmonton riding being rumoured had a pretty healthy vote split so I wouldn’t think it’s a guarantee. If they get their act together and vote for the NDP candidate who was the incumbent, PP could lose again. That would be hilarious.

Got 3 orphaned babies only 1 day old to foster. Poor little things miss their mama. She was never seen by the auto shop where she had her kittens. We will take care of them. I never had kids but I get up every few hours to hand feed little ones like this to save their lives!
