If you're in Public Preview for the Google Home app, you'll be able to try it out right now, or you'll see it soon (the launch may still be ramping).

Tip: Don't remove any members just yet, if you don't see this UX in the Home app as part of the add-a-person flow:

A last look before e-wasting the Nest Guard: ok the custom USB power cable that matches the curvature of the device is quite a detail.
But on the other hand, I would've preferred a standard USB cable, because you're unlikely to ever see the back of the device and it's easier to replace/repair, etc.

#internetTreasure 3: Poorna Jagannathan's Instagram handle (and her fashion + acting + social justice content): poornagraphy@. She's how I learned about Jasmine Sandlas (internet treasures 2A, 2B, and 2C). www.instagram.com/poornagraphy

I made this for a presentation, but also for my own amusement.

Apparently memes can be an excellent way to describe settings UX findings. In foundational research, almost all people are like, "Oh I never go to settings". But the people who did were fixing something important and broken.

Similarly, Azula's cruelty & ruthlessness got her where she was (favored by her father, etc.) but also did her in.
Sure, I'm up for a new take on Azula-&-ultimate-tiger-dad-Lord-Ozai dynamics, but the new series' changes aren't adding up. If they recreate this awesome scene, it won't make sense:

I was SO excited to see Ken Leung's seething sneer as the rash, over-confident, cunning Admiral Zhao, but the showrunner/producers decided to make him a sneaky, underqualified, backwater military officer. It made so much more sense when his pride got him where he was, but also led to his downfall:

Uncle Iroh made way more sense when he consistently and humorously undermined Zuko's search for the Avatar while subtly imparting lessons to his nephew. Reference: youtu.be/FVi5SFcksfM?...

Despite mashing together the visit to Roku's shrine, June the bounty hunter, & Koh the Face-Stealer on top of the Blue Spirit story, Episode 6 loses points because it lacks sucking on frozen wood frogs.

Ok I lie. Episode 6 loses points because it's unnecessarily convoluted...and still had no frogs.

A thread: critiques of the live-action "Avatar: The Last Airbender" series, using references that only fans of the original cartoon series will get.

First, the repetitive mentions of hope make me think of this:

This Halloween, the husband ate into my jack-o-lantern time by asking me to hand-paint a helmet for one of the children.

If I can figure this much out in one afternoon, forget the connected home industry, let's paint cars and motorcycles for a living.

It took a lot of tricks to get these poses from one child.
The other child required no coaxing.

The secret is to tell her not to smile.
And then follow with some kind of ludicrous joke.
But not an eye-roll-inducing kind of joke.

LOL Duolingo's description of German fashion.
The main text translates as, "Forget Italian and French fashion! I love German fashion! Do you know what it is? White socks and brown sandals."

For kicks, I looked for photos of 2020 primary debates and yeah: Republicans heavily favor the dark-blue-suit-with-red-tie look, while Democrats had a wider variety of looks.
