If you want to over analyze it, there was that one tweet about insulin prices going down during the blue check mark fiasco, that resulted in the prices actually changing because of the hope/rugpull effect it caused.

But even considering that is giving the guy too much credit for his record.

Why not just put a wall there if you want players to go down a specific route? Asking because if there is something worthwhile behind the trap then it would fall under the "to be overcome" part, wouldn't it?

My theory for that is that the way we talk about both of these roles in our hobby is just so different. When you look at GM advice it's all about how to make cool scenes. And for players its all about dealing with the mechanics.

i think you first need to identify what your gameplay loop is. if its raids villages, mines and dungeons and then go slay the big beasts. that could easily be turned into a ttrpg. the base building is way more tricky.
