Also rounded off the corners on images throughout the site for some polish. With that, I think the site's styling is pretty much complete? Just some small behind-the-scenes stuff to take care of before I officially deem the site finished.

i thought i was done with this site a while ago, but i keep having this thought of "ooooh, but what if..." #webdev

i actually have the taglines working, randomly displaying from a big js array, but having some trouble hooking in typed.js to it. i think it may be something related to *when* everything is being executed. a problem for another day tho 🤷‍♀️

a bit jank, but it got the job done. then a subtle color gradient and text shadow matching the site's background pink to make the text at the page bottom legible. next project is getting random taglines to display on the homepage, animated with typed.js

since apparently there's no way to edit opacity of a background image in css. seems...odd. i probably could've just gone and done something in js, but i'm not really familiar with that (one thing at a time) so i ended up essentially blending the site's usual background on top of the gifs

also used a prior idea i made for practice learning html/css basics and implemented it on my about page, albeit with an edited script and improved formatting. getting the animated tiled gif background to fade in with the site's usual background at the end of the page was unexpectedly difficult

also started building a homepage feature for the latest post. it works, however i'm having trouble getting it to scale nicely between screen sizes and with long titles 😵‍💫

anyway, using andrewhwanpark’s brutalist-blog theme for jekyll to base everything off. i plan on keeping the site mostly simple, but i would like to add maybe a feature spot for the most recent post, kinda like i have on substack now

that’s a ゲジゲジ! quite creepy, but they’re harmless. (not that that makes me feel any better about them—I once tore my apartment up and down one night, frantically searching for one I saw skitter across the floor while I was lying in bed)

It’s so good! It deserves a much audience. A great example of Early Access done really well, too.
