Decided to abandon typed.js since it didn't really fit the vibe. Instead, I've got a (conveniently much simpler) CSS animation that fades in the quote from the left. It's hooked up to an array in a js file that holds nearly 100 different quotes and one is randomly chosen to be shown. #webdev

also used a prior idea i made for practice learning html/css basics and implemented it on my about page, albeit with an edited script and improved formatting. getting the animated tiled gif background to fade in with the site's usual background at the end of the page was unexpectedly difficult

added new styling to the site with some background patterns. really gives the site some character i think. starting to prefer this version of the blog over the one on substack

also started building a homepage feature for the latest post. it works, however i'm having trouble getting it to scale nicely between screen sizes and with long titles 😵‍💫

added post metadata and support for full width images. still playing around with fonts #webdev

all posts are transferred from substack—converted to markdown and formatted for the site. added styling for quotes, content warnings, and sidebars—post content is now complete. two main things left: category pages for the posts and a featured area on the homepage for the most recent post

starting to come together. still a lot to do before its ready to go live: need to upload 2024's posts, create blockquote stylings, and im considering a collapsable framework for content warnings and sidebars. might play around the fonts some more, but i like the playful look this has atm
