Professor, eEF1A2/neurological disorders. Mostly talks about research, EDI (tries hard to be a good ally) but sometimes veers off into crafts and photos of Scotland. She/her, views own.
Less horrifically, but tellingly, the only time I met him he said (in response to something Peter Goodfellow said) “ well, I've never really had a collaborator” 🤯

Oh. A familiar but awful situation. Keeping everything crossed for you!

I'm so sorry to hear that Izzy. If anyone can keep it from happening to others in future, it's you ❤️

I wouldn't be able to do it eiither but do have a certain respect for that level of bluntness 😀 I always visualise a cartoon style shepherd's hook coming from stage left...

Oh no, sorry! I didn't mean to make you feel worse. But anyway, 2-3 slides is not that bad, especially if it's the end of a story. I mean the sort of people who have started a new set of data with only a few minutes to go!

Oh YES! And honestly, who takes anything in when you're out of time but the speaker is going at breakneck speed through their final 20 slides ? What on earth do they think they gain from it? I always put stuff at the end that I can miss if necessary (or conversely discuss at great length 😀)

Sounds fascinating, and so lovely to see you looking so well Anson 😘

Third, the peculiar idea that somehow we don't need to read, write, or perform literature reviews anymore; popping up like a satanic mushroom in almost all so-called OK uses of LLMs.

Companies writing our papers via their chatbots is not scientific at all. See section 5: doi.org/10.31234/osf...
