I have definitely seen an increase in people on social media (okay particular reddit) thinking its okay to use the R word.
I get downvoted to oblivion when I challenge it. People denying it is a slur etc

That's true. I wish everybody was able to engage in the communal aspects of Christmas which usually involve money! Nobody should be isolated this time of year because their benefits or wages are too stingy :(

Since I'm already diagnosed and trying all the medication I can, my interactions with healthcare professionals have actually been quite limited recently because there's nothing more they can really do for me. The healthcare I receive is disproportionately low for how unwell I am continuously.

I finished my PIP review form today (only took 3 months...) And its striking me how hard it is to gather sufficient medical evidence. Let alone that the form itself is barely scratching the surface when it comes to expressing how disabled I am.

I feel so insulted by it that I usually give it to charity but I can understand why it'll get swallowed up by people who are counting every penny.

It should be raised to, at very least, cover the cost of a Christmas dinner for a family of 4.

I have already pushed the date back twice so don't think i can do it again.
I was originally trying to do it myself but my brain fog just never lifted.

Yup, I couldn't get citizens advice to help because it was 6 weeks until their benefits advisor had an available appointment.

I think about this a lot when people talk of people malingering on disability benefits. Nobody would choose to have to stay at home and do nothing but try to rest all the time! Its so boring.
I'd pay all the money in the world to be able bodied and working.

I don't think individuals or private landlords should own houses. Free housing should be available to all through the state, and not for profit.

Whether this could be implemented practically i don't know but in the UK just now the housing crisis is failing so many.

At the very least, great apes should have human rights. (The ones which can apply to them)

We are a social species, and we have always prevailed through cooperation. Caring for our sick. Raising children we didn't sire or birth because they were part of our village or extended family. We are not breeders and predators, we are communicators and survivors. We evolved to UNITE.

There are also many of us for whom removing any and all barriers in the workplace and wider world would still not be enough to enable us to work. I am simply too restricted by my biological health.

What a prick!

I make the distinction because most the other disabled people I've heard from have supported it in theory but think its ill-timed and with inadequate safeguards.

Do most disabled people support assisted dying or do most disabled people support this bill?
