We’re in Whitby - weather so bad we’ve been forced, against our will, to spend the afternoon in the pub with beer and a pint (!) of pork scratchings …

You’ve arrived just in time for Storm
Benjamin!

Not forgetting cob, tea cake, muffin and buns . We could add in a discussion about ginnels and snickets

Nearly! A meat and potato pie in a barm cake (see @jillianw.bsky.social for explanation) with a side of mushy peas!

But it’s got salad in it!! All wrong! BTW I think @scarlettaddams.bsky.social needs to be introduced to a Wigan Kebab asap!

😂. Wasn’t that a song 😂. I think you need a quick trip to Preston while you’re here to sample Spudbros baked potatoes with ‘tram sauce’ , washed down with a butter pie and parched peas . A whole new level of Englishness in the culinary department .

Is @scarlettaddams.bsky.social ready for this! Trust it will include beans and proper brown sauce
August 22, 2025 at 8:40 PM
That’s Lancashire crisps there. Just saying…

We went on Sunday. I was at a conference yesterday but had it on a pop out screen discreetly! Amazing test match x

Yes Kylie that’s correct

Just to be clear PIP is not an out of work benefit but the cuts will impact disabled people in employment
March 27, 2025 at 12:06 AM
Thanks Jon

At the expense of disabled people? This one’s too personal I’m afraid . And I am aware there are no alternatives that’s why I have no idea how I’m going to vote. What I am going to do is see my Labour MP, get him to look me in the eye and tell me why he feels it acceptable to betray Labour values
March 26, 2025 at 11:57 PM
Same here Jon. My son, in work btw, receives pip but his disability impacts at a lower range across multiple activities - he’s unlikely to score a 4 in any single one. Supported Labour all my life. Will be resigning my membership tomorrow. No idea how I’ll vote in the future .
March 26, 2025 at 11:13 PM
Disability impacts daily living across a lower range of multiple activities . So he is penalised !! Labour in name only. Resigning my membership tomorrow
