What difference does it make if they see the truth now?
January 12, 2026 at 3:51 AM
What does "this is how it starts" mean when this has already been going on so long? When they already shot a woman in Chicago and then bragged about it nearly two months ago? When so many people have simply disappeared?
January 11, 2026 at 11:43 PM
Right. Like I said, I was off here for a few weeks. Just came back to a huge pile of notifications, mostly you saying the same thing multiple times in slightly different words. I didn't look closely enough to see how long it took you to burn yourself out responding to dead air.
January 11, 2026 at 12:20 AM
Yes, you can. But they can't. Sorry you're still having trouble following. Haven't been on here in a while and it's both sad and comical how many times you came back and ranted at me while I was going on with my life.
January 10, 2026 at 11:56 PM
It's not condescension, it's complete disgust. Refusal to learn beyond soundbites is how we got Trump and all of the accompanying hell. You are clearly not even reading, since your response to "here's why they couldn't do it with subsidies' was "they could just as easily do it with subsidies'."
December 17, 2025 at 8:01 PM
As I explained, Republicans COULDN'T do those things re subsidies mid-year, because a contract is formed when someone purchases a year of insurance through the marketplace.
December 17, 2025 at 7:52 PM
Well, if you so horribly miscomprehended what I already said to mean "Dems bad because Republicans are doing bad things," there wouldn't be much point in trying to convey grown-up information to you. Your addiction to nonsensical sounds bites has me thinking you may actually be MAGA.
December 17, 2025 at 7:48 PM
Yes, they "secured" funding. Except they could do a legislative recission. Or they could approve a presidential recission request. Or they could leave the funding in place but change eligibility criteria. This is not the same as ACA subsidies because the purchase of ACA coverage is contractual.
December 17, 2025 at 7:38 PM
Okay, tell me honestly: are you pretending to think SNAP is safe/off the table now, or did someone really trick you into believing that?
December 17, 2025 at 6:53 PM
No, I haven't explained anything to you b/c, as I said, you are clearly closed to information. It would be a waste of time to write up the 5-7,000 word explanation for you so you could bot-like cut and paste the same phrases--"millions go hungry" and "purity test"--again without reading.
December 17, 2025 at 6:43 PM
Every time you yell "purity test," you sound dumber. It's clear emotional outbursts/buzz words are important to you. I prefer to read the actual bills, assess history & draw rational conclusions. to each his own. I've long since learned there's nothing I can do to make a cut-and-paste warrior think.
December 17, 2025 at 6:26 PM
Again, your understanding seems incredibly superficial. I'm not inclined to attempt to educate you because your every response makes it clear that you're looking for an attack point, not information. Consider doing some research outside of social media.
December 17, 2025 at 6:16 PM
It's clear that you have no understanding of the issue. Yes, they could reinstate subsidies tomorrow. Guess what? IT WOULDN'T HELP THE MILLIONS WHO WERE UNABLE TO BUY COVERAGE BEFORE THE 12/15 DEADLINE FOR 2026. Those who were dependent on ACA coverage for life-threatening conditions will now die.
December 17, 2025 at 5:55 PM
And some of us have neither.
December 17, 2025 at 5:34 PM
When all else fails, change the subject. I never said they were. I said Dems gave up the only slim chance they had to avoid millions losing healthcare. What's different in January is that extending ACA subsidies won't help the people harmed by this--they'll be without coverage for a year minimum.
December 17, 2025 at 5:34 PM
So what? They can shut down the government until Republicans revive the people they killed by denying them healthcare? Or just until they agree to provide them healthcare in 2027 if they survive the year it's already too late for? What magical thinking are you subscribing to?
December 17, 2025 at 5:14 AM
Where did that unfounded nonsense come from? I've not seen a study on the political parties of people who need ACA subsidies, but I can tell you that I personally know quite a lot of liberals/Democrats who will be losing coverage, including a couple who will almost certainly die.
December 17, 2025 at 5:13 AM
There is no long game for the people who will die from loss of access to medical care.
December 17, 2025 at 5:11 AM
They still have what, exactly? Millions of Americans will have lost insurance coverage for a year in 15 days. Many will die. It's over.
December 16, 2025 at 11:03 PM
No, that's just for trademarks.
December 16, 2025 at 8:26 PM
This sort of thing always makes me think of Y2K. Tens of thousands of developers worked day and night to fix the problem before we hit 2000, and then everyone said "See, there was never a problem!"
December 16, 2025 at 8:23 PM
Not really the point, is it? AS the minority party, Democrats had one leverage point between now and the end of the term. They knew it. They said it over and over again. And then they gave it up in exchange for nothing.
December 16, 2025 at 8:19 PM
And literally everyone knew this was where it ended when they inexplicably gave up everything in exchange for nothing.
December 16, 2025 at 8:18 PM
Doesn't really matter at this point. It's already too late for millions of Americans to get coverage for 2026.
