I care less about Signal chats and more about the blacksite offshore concentration camps we're sending random people to without any semblance of a trial, so I'll be interested to see if the national media can rub their bellies and pat their heads at the same time this week. Historically they can't.

People spend a lot of time wondering why the left is worse at using independent media to control the national narrative.
A useful exercise is to ask why the left is also worse at selling snake oil and pyramid schemes, because I think the reasons are basically exactly the same.

U.S. immigration detention is a profit-driven enterprise. Private corporations like GEO Group and CoreCivic receive billions in federal contracts, earning daily revenue per detainee. The more migrants detained, the greater the profit—turning human suffering into a business model.

I am a lifelong Dem in a red state so I have no representation. I am dismayed by the apathy of the elected Dems. Would there be any value in a mass exodus from the Democratic Party—switching affiliation to Independent?
