Unfortunate. Prepare for anything involving government to get even slower and less efficient.

Thank you for taking on this subject as I can’t read it. Growing up under the threat of mutually assured destruction— talking about it as a middle schooler— and watching The Day After in school has absolutely impacted my life. The talk from this admin is reckless and just comes off as depraved.

Unplugging from apps as much as possible and reading books to to renew memory. I’m reading They Knew right now, and realizing how much of the recent past (last decade) I was forgetting. I think books are the new long form journalism I used to enjoy as a teen reading Rolling Stone.

Living on the other side of the same coin, in a state with GOP supermajority. Clearly neither party has the interests of its citizens in mind when it comes to big tech.

Not alone! In agreement. And I’d add dump most social media, and shop local as much as possible instead of online.

You asked a question, I offered an answer…that’s not starting anything but dialogue. Disagreeing without being disagreeable is possible.

Not having to disclose medical history to the surrogate? I did not know the extent of risk posed to the surrogate because of different genetics. This story is chilling and tragic and it’s convinced me surrogacy should be illegal.

The good things is facts exist, whether our leaders want to be aware of them or not. History tells us that movements and leaders fall when all they have is garbage info to go on.

Fellow former janitor here. This thread is fascinating.

And trying to use “differences”to justify treating some parts of the US as a “petri dish” (your words, not mine).

And that wealth impacts discourse, including the media, which rarely informs, but promotes scandal…the largest being that the folks in CA and MO are actually so different from one another.

Which gets at the heart of my posts. Those who drag fly over country but don’t know much about it. Very easy to spot, actually. Who buy into the notion that the middle of the country caused the current debacle, when most of the wealth exists on the coasts.

Are you aware that MO voted to both raise the minimum wage and restore women’s bodily autonomy in the last few cycles by more than a majority? For your focus on MO, you don’t seem to know a lot about the state.

Debate does not mean a person on one side is “bad” or “good”. I disagree with your takes, that’s all. So what is your approach for winning over all the folks who voted for this admin in CA, for example (6 million), which far exceeds the numbers from MO, 1.5 million. See Ballotopedia for reference.

💯 and leaders that can’t get serious about communicating in a way the public understands should step down.

Might be a good time to point out that the total number of voters for the current admin in places like CA far exceeds the vote totals in some of the “red” states.
