i've talked about this before i think people watch adventure time like it's a battle shonen for some reason and get mad that he isn't fighting enemies and getting babes and instead the weird cartoon does weird things to it's main character haha

The fact of the matter is that bad actors have exploited cis people's disgust and reticence when it comes to viewing trans existence as just as worth of dignity, respect, and support. So even when we're trying to talk about a blatant attack on our rights, people turn up with conspiracy theories.

There's a kind of "support" cis people will give trans people (and queer people more generally) that amounts to: "It's well and good for you people to be the way you are, but not MY kid. My kid is normal and if my kid ever the idea of being anything but normal, it's YOUR fault."
