As an author, I don't make a whole lot of money, but at the same time I need to read a lot of books to stay aware of trends and support my fellow authors. Obviously if I spend all my profits on other people's books, I'm not coming out ahead!

So: ways to read lots of indie books for cheap.

We are trying to come up with a name for this buff compact gal that suits her better. We rescued her a few weeks ago and the name she came with doesn't fit.
We want something nerdy that fits with our interests in Sci-Fi, video games, etc. Please make suggestions!

Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

I genuinely can't believe how hard it is to find stock images now that are not AI generated. This seems to have happened overnight.
The stock image sites I used to rely on do not even provide labels to identify these images as AI.
Are we already past the point of no return?

My profile picture is from Meow Wolf, specifically Omega Mart. If you visit the US Southwest and need inspiration for storytelling in a new medium, I cannot recommend anything better. I was not prepared for the level of immersion, Sci-Fi, mystery & art.

I've been off social media as an author for about 2 years. In my excitement to return, I accidentally created a second bsky account (whoops).
