Ooops looks like unreal 5.7 was released a few days ago? Been working on other projects, will be back on gamedev in a month or so.

Quick prototype to have an idea of how a windmill could be built up. Right now it's a pretty bog-standard turbine style, but I wanna have various building blocks for more interesting designs :3

My previous game would have been developed alot faster, and much cleaner if I'd learnt about blueprint interfaces earlier :/

Now I just point at an object and say, do this. If it has stuff implemented it does it. GAH.

Started on my 2nd game, going to be a cozy-ish game where you build windmills XD

Going so much faster now compared to 7821 Akuji as I'm familiar with the basics of unreal now.

Woot, that's it. I've added all the extra features I wanted to learn about into 7821 Akuji and v1.07 is the final release, barring any bugfixes. Does #unrealengine support fonts with variable weights? I can't seem to find much in the forums or in-engine.

Had a bit of a scare last night, imported the mandarin localization and only parts of it worked. Ended up I'd used the wrong font, traditional instead of Simplified. Whew.

Still some bits to fix up, mainly making sure ui scales properly with different text lengths.

Finished all the translations last night, gonna get 'em in 7821 Akuji today and do some tests before I upload to steam/itch. The very last thing to do after this is to setup steam achievements then I will move on to my next game!

Exactly how does one translate Raytraced Shadows to mandarin lol. Like raytraced does not show up in my 2 dictionaries. Or stuff like telefrag, respawning XD

Not enjoying doing the translations, part of me wishes to just use a machine translation but no, will soldier through. (Even though my translation will likely be worse XD)

Ack, found a bug during playtesting today, hopefully no one experienced it >.> Very simple fix but will softlock the game until the level is restarted.

Gonna take it slow today, mainly gonna do playtesting to make sure the achivements trigger properly - I've done this weeks ago and don't think the addition of the new menu options would change anything but just in case.

Else gonna be mostly playing games and figuring out future projects.

Supposed to be just simply finishing up the 5 achievement icons today, but I had an idea during my time away of... what if I could let the player show or hide the achievements they got? (they're displayed on the main menu)

Back at #spelkollektivet! Tonight's dinner is butter chicken, and i added 2 hardboiled eggs. Then we had some princesstårta and a mud pie for dessert :)

Worked on the achievement icons, but they need alot more work. Will be back on this in a week or so as I'm visiting Poland and Germany!

I was working on figuring out steam achivements for my game then realized that that is a feature people on other platforms would be missing out - so why not just make achievements (in general) so everyone it, and if you're on steam you get that pop up. Yee!

Looks like I'm ready to actually get the text in 7821 Akuji translated! All the systems are in-place. I think.

Gonna take next week off for travels, so gonna look into steam achivements for the time being. Once that's done I can start on my next game.

Looks like when setting the language in #unrealengine (so-called Culture in-editor) the language setting needs to be reapplied for every new UI widget that is instantiated? I'd though Culture was like a global setting that would be set-once work-everywhere.
