Whenever anything like this dominates the news my question is what the hell else is going on that we're not being told about. Maybe nothing. But it always seems like when there's some insanely weird thing being focused, on there's other insanely weird things that we're not hearing about.

These people who are so freaking greedy that they have to have everything while others have nothing; if they're never going to be satisfied maybe they should accept that what they're trying to gain for themselves will never fill the hole they have inside.

Just imagine if every person decided to be a decent human being and not torment other people for money or resources. There would be no ice, there would probably be no armies, there would be no war, and people could just be free to live. If everyone honored the humanity of others we could be free.

I teach music and I teach the Star Spangled Banner.I tell my students there's a question at the end of the song.Kids say it asks if the flag is still flying.I say not exactly,it's asking if the flag is still flying over the land of the free and the home of the brave. What answer will we choose?

Okay I just had to share this because it made me laugh so hard-while reading Heather Cox Richardson my brain read "in Trump's second pregnancy" rather than presidency and I just started laughing my ass off. My first thought was I'd love to see him try and handle that! Need more coffee!! LOL

I meditate every morning. Then I read about the Cesspool our country is becoming. It removes my peace very quickly.This morning I've done my meditation and I've gone to read the first thing I usually read. I just don't want to dive into that filthy water of misery that the news brings. Time to rest.

I do not understand how, apparently, so many people in this country can be so hateful. I just don't. It boggles my mind and it makes me incredibly sad, not only for us, but for them. Carrying hate in one's heart is like poison. What happened to these people to make them be so hateful?

As I sit here grading final exams at the end of the semester I can't even figure out how to encourage my students to work harder. Many of my students are refugees and I work in an inner city district so almost everybody lives in poverty, and I can't even say to them if you know more it'll be better.

I had an odd experience last night. I got up to use the restroom and I looked out the window and it was raining and I said to myself I hope it doesn't rain too much because the ground is frozen and it won't sink in and the next moment the rain stopped as if somebody had turned off a faucet.
