3. Main plot was more lackluster than usual. I know it’s a conduit for me to run around and do dumb shit, but Arceus at least built on pre-established lore. All we got was “Pokemon hurty from human development,” a motif present in basically every game. Gas it up a lil, man.

2. These research tasks suck ass. I’m just catching and evolving. Bleh. What happened to the whimsy of feeding a Psyduck to confuse the shit out of him? Or catching sleepy Shinx before they go fucko mode and attack? Not all of Arceus’ tasks were great, but it was “what if animal behavior” in a game.

1b. Truly, not giving me a Bidoof to cart around Paris and share tea with is I think a human rights violation. You denied me the animal embodiment of a hug with an already slim character list. Do better.

Cons
1. Not enough Pokemon in my Pokemon game. How do we have roughly the same amount as gen2 in a time like this? Why are the conditions for finding Pokemon in the wild zones so unintuitive and weird?

3. The last ten minutes of the main campaign unlocked Happy Monkey Brain. Weird greyhound-coded dog evolves into a gundam. Sick. Five minutes later he mega evolves into a super gundam with a Rocket Launcher of Good. Immaculate. Chef’s kiss.

2b. This wasn’t as brave as creating the platonic T4T couple of big buff lady in pastel fetish gear and the tiniest lil twink imaginable, but I’ll give credit where credit is due.

2. GameFreak ain’t beating the freak allegations.
