Postdoc at FRB-CESAB. I use ecological models to predict the impacts of environmental change and management strategies on wildlife populations. Currently working on small carnivores in the DISCAR project.

We also provide a decision tree to help identify potentially suitable modelling approaches for your purpose. While data availability plays a role here, there are ways around some data limitations. This can also be used before data collection to identify what data may be needed for your question.

One aspect we discuss is around deciding which mechanisms/processes may be needed for a given application. For example, when you might want/need to incorporate spatial dynamics or biotic interactions.

The latest paper from the DISCAR synthesis group is out at Ecology Letters! We discuss the key approaches to predicting human impacts on wildlife populations, highlighting avenues for incorporating indirect effects, such as energetic modelling. doi.org/10.1111/ele....

Come see me present at 10.30 am tomorrow! My presentation time was shifted from 12.15 pm. You'll find me in the Fire ecology + indigenous wetland restoration session at #ESAus2024

In 3 weeks, I'll be speaking at #ESAUS2024 about how we can understand and predict human impacts on wildlife populations, particularly when dealing with multiple direct and indirect stressors. Come find me if you want to chat about human impacts, multiple stressors, or modelling choices! 🦘🦇🐢🦅🐌🐠🪲
