Some dude who really loves:

- Software development
- Fighting games (and generating stats around them)
- Food
- Travel
- Baseball
- Powerlifting

Hates fascists, capitalist bootlickers, anti LGBTQIA+ you get the point.

Plur1bus is fascinating in the many themes it explores.

I just can't decide if the behavior of the main character is necessary for the exploration of these themes.

I push back against management that asks "why?" in professional spaces.

"Why?" implies a judgement, "what" is about understanding.

"Then how do you get to root causes?"

Ask "what?"

Note the difference:

"Why did this happen?"

"What can we do to make this better?"

This film has all the intelligence and appeal of a Safdie brothers film.

And I despise Safdie brothers films.

One of the few films I wish I could get the time i spent watching back.

That it's filmed in one shot is worth mentioning.

Everything in the John Wick franchise is hazy after 1, so maybe 2?

Generational trauma at its finest with the added benefit of being rooted in real-life events.

Zac Efron deserves credit for showing what he can do with great direction.

Seriously, Dr. Strangelove is a much better movie on the same topic, and a dark comedy on top of it all.
"A House of Dynamite" is what I expect from someone that phones it in because the paycheck is too good.

It throws away whatever was built up in the first 30 minutes for no rhyme or reason, only to rehash it poorly over and over again.

"The Hurt Locker" and "Zero Dark Thirty" this ain't.

Sanae Takaichi resists acknowledging Japan's wartime atrocities.

She denies coercion used against Korean comfort women and campaigned to remove references in school books about wartime sexual slavery

I guarantee she'll never acknowledge Unit 731.

History requires an acknowledgement of the truth.

Even though Iris being a robot was ruined for me before seeing this, it's a very entertaining look at questions around power dynamics, autonomy, gender roles and what makes for a sentient being.

Although seeing Jack Quaid as something other than happy-go-lucky takes getting used to.

Sometimes all the elements are there but it just doesn't come together in the way one expects.

Jessica Chastain delivering a screenplay and directed by Aaron Sorkin should be a slam dunk, and yet, it lacks the punch that so much of Sorkin's dialog usually has.

Also, love that u can immediately see the impact of Sorkins writing/direction.
