“Under promise, under deliver”
Right, of course, the NDA I signed. Yes, Dr. Cowabunga is totally invented and the sodium bisulfate isn’t 94% of my diet. 😉

The real problem was crypto scammers being denied bank accounts, not having a reasonable immigration and visa policy or ICE raiding every neighborhood Donald Trump doesn’t like.

Oh God the Operation Chokepoint assholes are gonna go apeshit

Hey, you’re a great follow, just defending my profession lol

I’m sharing all of these because I’m proud of my writing and opinions, but I’m also sharing because I’m so proud of Protos for allowing this type of writing while not falling victim to ragebait bullshit like Canada should be the 51st state by Ross Douthat

We do good reporting and have good opinions
December 10, 2025 at 9:26 PM
I even, occasionally, have an opportunity to criticize other media outlets!

protos.com/opinion-pira...
Opinion: Pirate Wires’ Trump token reporting was irresponsible and lazy
Pirates Wires claimed that Donald Trump was launching a meme coin called DJT with his son. However, there's no evidence for this anywhere.

Sometimes I get to discuss an important topic completely outside the scope of crypto, like when I wrote about how journalists are facing one of the most dangerous times in history:

protos.com/opinion-evan...
Opinion: Evan Gershkovich is home, but journalists are still in danger
So far this year, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists, 113 journalists have been killed with the number expected to rise.

I can just straight up call something stupid

protos.com/gemini-xrp-c...
Opinion: The Gemini XRP credit card is stupid
Gemini's new XRP Mastercard offers no new features, except "an innovative design for the XRP Army to show their allegiance."

I get to call out lies from companies that advertise with Protos:

This is an issue regarding editorial decisions, and I completely agree with you again.

I’m just asking we don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Jamelle Bouie has explained that he doesn’t quit the NYT because:

1. Just because you’ve heard of him doesn’t mean he’s wealthy. He has a family to support!

2. His reach is huge with the NYT, more than it would be otherwise.

Also, he’s a great op-ed writer and I’m glad he *does* have that reach.

I totally agree, tbc

The NYT will do a great article about David Sacks being a conflicted weasel and then turn around and publish this nonsense opinion piece.

Come on, guys, what the fuck
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

Europe must “persuade younger Europeans that their heritage, culture and way of life — a fundamentally Christian civilization leavened and improved but not erased by the values of the Enlightenment — are worth defending,” our columnist Bret Stephens writes.

There are many (most!) opinion writers worth hating, but journalists, real journalists, generally rock.

Hahahahahaha I love the idea of mainlanders heading to the islands and being like “I hate being surrounded by all this beauty, I need something ugly and disgusting to be satisfied”
December 10, 2025 at 9:01 PM
I just want to point out that opinion writers are not journalists.

Hawaiians should be searching for Hawaiian porn, I don’t get the masochism
December 10, 2025 at 8:58 PM
The most normie shit on that map is Californians liking Latina Amateurs and New Yorkers going wild for Dominicans.

As Snowden points out, Wisconsin going “sloppy” also makes sense.

My favorite is “boner”

Like, yeah dude, as opposed to what exactly

The part I genuinely remember most about that book (one of his best) is his distilled hatred of chicory and how inadequate a substitute for coffee it is.
