And the payout from the class action lawsuit netted less than $8 for each claimant whose most personal health data was breached. Not really much of a deterrent to prevent the next breach.

Thanks CBC for reporting on this. Vancouver Island health authority also had a breach that affected employees who accessed counseling through their EFAP program in 2021. It was also handled poorly. databreaches.net/2021/07/28/c...

Pre-clearance also prevents Canadians from being detained by US authorities. The Canadian is still on Canadian soil and can just walk back outside the airport and go home if they want to.

That's what I was thinking...it will just cost them later if the patient gets lymphedema. Peers of mine who have lymphedema are unable to work, so reducing the likelihood of lymphedema would also save the employers or long term disability insurers.

These microsurgeons who perform breast reconstruction using microscopes in the operating room for up to 16 hours at a time are very tough. I wouldn't mess with them if I were united.

I understand! One of my drains kept "running high" for three weeks post op. I had to wear a big shirt to conceal it when I attended a Bruce Coburn concert.

Yep, and when we found out that it's common practice in the US to feed chicken litter to dairy cows, that adds to the revulsion I feel towards those products.

When the tumor is removed, you may be asked to donate part of it to a breast cancer study or a tissue bank for future studies. I remember signing documents twice for two different research purposes. I was like "well, this tissue is trying to kill me, so, sure, take it!"

I was wondering the same thing. In reading the article, the authors used "number of prescriptions" rather than dose as variables. From what I know, patients using gabapentin for hot flashes usually have a lower dose than those using it for pain.

Those publications provided us with the best articles and information during the pandemic. It would be a huge loss if their editorial decisions were eroded.
