Anything that makes you ask “why does America do this?” it’s bc of racism. Tipping, anti-vagrancy/loitering/foraging laws, credit scores, tying health insurance to a job, bar exam… if it might make a Black person happy, healthy, or successful, give it an obstacle course

Notably, the only one actually fired at this point was the contingent faculty lecturer. The others have tenure and therefore still have jobs. When are faculty across the country going to come together to combat the increasing instability in the field?
