Now that the oxygen is more rich, the levels are in line, and the bacteria is eating up sludge and algae that competes for nutrients....
We are already seeing a big jump in wildlife visitors!
We have seen egrets, osprey, skunks, opossums, ducks, and even a peacock!

With the chemicals in order - I had to repair the aerator. This pump is really important to maintain consistent Oxygen levels throughout the water column.
Without it, we could never imagine sustaining fish for long. This is why people typically have to stock every year... Which I don't believe in.

Now, after some work, the pond is perfectly suitable to sustain wildlife organically.

Bob is really enjoying her new life as an indoor/outdoor barn cat... Far away from cars and predators.
She's fixed, fed, medicated, and putting her long developed feral skills to rodent hunting.
I couldn't imagine a better situation for a feral who doesn't want to become a full on house cat.

turns out she's a really cool tortie point ragdoll. she has really wild colors, a ringtail, her eyes are still blue as an adult, and she's incredibly soft and sweet.
She's easily the prettiest street cat my Dallas neighborhood ever produced 😅
