Egregious abuses of presidential power are impeachable offenses.
Trump’s direction to DOJ to investigate Chris Krebs and Miles Taylor because he doesn’t like what they said is an unprecedented abuse of power by a President of the United States.

I call on all Congressional Republicans to condemn this egregious weaponization of the government.

If the Supreme Court ultimately agrees with what the gov't is arguing today, that the President has broad Article II powers that would permit it to deport people & there can be no judicial review, then literally no one is safe.

I know this first hand. When I was a child, my entire community was branded as spies and sabateurs, justifying our internment inside barbed wire camps for years without due process, trial or charge.

One of my companies informed me they cancelled a $2m conference in Florida. Why ?

They didn’t feel they could pass on the incremental cost of tariffs. So they are cutting expenses.

That’s a city that lost a ton of tourism revenue.

The cost of tariffs isn’t just the cost of the tariff

Ruth Marcus is the gold standard. She was one of the finest students I taught in 50 years at Harvard, a brilliant writer, a magnificent editor, and a good friend. I can barely imagine how painful this was for her. Jeff Bezos and Will Lewis are 100% to blame. A big middle finger to those 2 cowards.
Scoop: Washington Post editor Ruth Marcus says she’s resigning after a column on Jeff Bezos’s Wall Street Journal-like opinion pivot was rejected by Will Lewis

The lesson of this current episode - aside from the obvious fact that Republicans violated their oaths twice during the Trump impeachment trials - is that many more senior people should have gone to jail for years & been forever banned from politics for Watergate & Iran-Contra & Bush era torture.
This is deeply illegal, violating appropriations law, authorizations law, and the Impoundment Control Act.

It is also deeply immoral, condemning people to die.

NEW: Washington Post crisis continues apace. Ruth Marcus, liberal columnist, quits after saying Will Lewis (former Tel editor, now running things there) spiked a column critical of the recent narrowing of oped subjects...

Ex-editors in despair. Big crisis in one of world's most important newsrooms.

Military aid to Ukraine has always been a bargain for the U.S.

We degraded Russia’s armed forces and replaced our own stockpiles with brand new weapons, all while brave Ukrainians— not Americans—fought the Russians off.

Halting that aid is not only morally repulsive, it’s plain stupid.
