Carson High School baseball put together its second walk-off win in the last five days. Thursday night's winner came from a senior, who isn't exactly known for his play at the plate.

"He ended up coming up big. ... We were all excited to see that guy do it."

We’re about 10 minutes from opening up regional week for hoops.

No. 9 Carson (7-19, 2-14) is taking on No. 8 Reed (8-17, 3-13) this evening. The Raiders have won both meetings this season — 51-48 and 57-50 in OT.

Winner will play at No. 1 Spanish Springs tomorrow night.

Carson High School boys basketball received a second league win for its game Jan. 3 against Damonte Ranch. The Senators are now 2-6 in Class 4A North league play.

The NIAA has ruled that the Mustangs forfeited that contest despite an 80-54 win on the floor.
