I enjoyed 'Heartbreak Hotel' - it's got its flaws (mainly characterisation, a major problem for the series after the golden era) but I liked the concept and did laugh a fair bit (Homer's 'Heartbreak Hotel's parody is good)
Close to a 7 but just falls short

I thought 'Bart's Not Dead' was fairly shallow, basic stuff. After watching 640 episodes in three and a half years, episodes like this are pretty forgettable
The bit where Jesus beats up Bart in the dream sequence earned a shocked laugh out of me tho

I thought this season was better that last season, but the stats say otherwise 🤷♂️
Every episode is either bang average or terrible, with very little in-between.
I gave 'Gone Boy' a 7 and it's the only episode I'd recommend from this season.

'Flanders' Ladder' is just weird - Bart ends up in a coma and seeing the dead?!? It's like a dragged out Treehouse Of Horror bit and not a full episode.
It's engagingly sinister (especially when Bart goes to the therapist in the coma world) but that's all

"Throw Grampa From The Dane' just happened tbh...as Grampa episodes go, it was bearable but inessential.
A bonus point for a) a Dr Nick cameo ('That's why I wear the heart listening tube') and b) the Homer/Marge opening scene being quite pleasant

I liked 'Left Behind' - the idea of Ned working with Homer is a good one and I thought it was a decent episode by latter day Simpsons standards
If the plot was more layered (ie Ned and Bart's relationship explored more) this would have scored higher

I thought 'Forgive And Regret' was awful - by now, I dread Grampa episodes and this one was another stinker with Abe as main focus
Such a shallow episode with weird mean characterisation...found myself loading up Pro Evo during it, if I'm being honest....

'Lisa Gets The Blues' screams filler to me - it's an absolutely nothing episode
Half of the episode feels like it's just Homer listing New Orleans food, that 'joke' is way too long
Not being offensive enough to score a 1 is the only saving grace

'King Leer' isn't too bad for a Moe episode, it feels more grounded than most and doesn't overdo the 'Moe is a loser' jokes.
I thought it was amusing too...I laughed out loud at a drunk Homer using a dog for a breathalyser, only for the dog to fail too 🤣

'No Good Read Goes Unpunished' had a promising start with Bart using The Art Of War to torment Homer....
...but then it goes into an awful, heavy handed Lisa/Marge censorship story that tries to defend the show's use of Apu 😮
Grim.

"Fears Of A Clown' has some interesting ideas (Krusty as a serious actor) but it races through both plots so fast that nothing makes sense
I did laugh though, some good lines here ("Yet another puff piece that ends in madness") and Krusty is pretty funny
