Weren't Republicans supposedly all-in on the free market? If customers hated the female and non-white employees, shouldn't Replublicans shrug and tell them to patronize All Male White Nationalist Testosterone Infused Coffee Brewing Co. up the block?

I think this would then lead me to the path of wondering what/if there is a relationship between histamine and PMDD, and also think about possible comorbidities like MCAS or other autoimmune dysfunctions.

second verse, same as the first, a whole lot louder and a whole lot worse.

My kid saw the writing on the wall when she was researching careers. She wants to write books, and make video games. don't need a degree for either, both tend to be gig work, even with degrees, highly competitive, and unstable incomes. The gaming industry was really scary to watch this past year.

yep. the college cliff will make how it feels to these kids worse. Some will make it in, and are being told tech jobs are where it's at, and those jobs will not be there when they graduate. they will have unaffordable loans with no job to back it up

so far, 2/3 of my teens are choosing not to go to college, because I guess we're pessimists.

which means fewer seats over all. and some kids having to switch schools due to closure, loose scholarships/credit when they transfer. It kinda doesn't matter because the billionaire class thinks American kids aren't capable of keeping up, so jobs in tech and the arts are going to evaporate.

the pessimistic part of me says that we'll mostly have a big, uncomfortable slinky crunch where there will be more college seats for a little while, and colleges may be very competitive in offering discounts to get people to attend, but that will accelerate the closure of smaller schools.

We may see growth in the trades, college will remain increasingly unaffordable.

I can't decide if I'm feeling optimistic or not. optimistically, it means that some jobs that shouldn't NEED a degree will return to a place where you don't have to get one. There's a movement in some places to remove unnecessary degree hurdles, like what Walz did in MN.
