Calycanthus sprouts fairly readily for me, does not require two years.

How in the world can a native plant be a “noxious weed”?? That certainly needs to change. I agree that it is an adorable little plant.

Wild comfrey is very, very fuzzy and does not have the varied coloration. As far as orchids go, it’s definitely not cranefly (Tipularia), but I do agree that the leaf looks orchid-like. Hope that it flowers, and then you’ll find out!
