Fagan was the first female service chief of a U.S.military branch, under her leadership the Coast Guard had exceeded recruitment goals, intercepted $2.5 billion in illegal drugs in 2024, sped up production of icebreakers, and had tried to reverse the cover-ups of sexual misconduct.2/3
