Former Twitter nerd, nostalgic only for the 140-character limit. My interest is advocacy, especially for active transportation, ecological sanitation for rural housing affordability, and the marine trades, including the restoration of wooden vessels.

Massive Energy Storage Project Eyed for Four Corners Region
BECLABITO, N.M. – Standing in a breezy parking lot on Navajo land in the state’s far northwest corner, Tom Taylor looked toward the western horizon and then upwards at the furrowed mass of the Carrizo Mountains less than 10 miles away. If all goes to plan, the infrastructure that could one day spill from the mountain’s flanks and through its core will become an essential piece of the region’s electric grid, able to store surplus electricity from renewable energy and other power sources for when it is needed later.

Golf carts are puttering their way toward becoming a legit transport mode.

This year, Cleveland, Corpus Christi, and South Carolina officially legalized them on local streets. Major media outlets like the Wall Street Journal and CBS News have covered their soaring popularity (esp in suburbs).
Why one Michigan town is regulating its golf cart boom
St. Johns, Michigan, is one of more than two dozen communities in the state to pass ordinances regulating golf carts on public roads.

Thanks, Emily. I hadn't thought of it that way.
I wonder how many trans people or parents of trans kids my Republican colleagues actually know. I spend time speaking to LGBTQ+ students and they ask me if I know any trans people my age because they don’t believe they will make it to 40.
